Turkey Experiment Pictures

I purchased a Wal-Mart turkey to compare with a turkey that I had raised here on the farm.  Here are the pictures I took, my bird is the one on the right.

Size and Dimensions

Wal-mart: 15.63 lbs.      The Poultry Guy: 15.75 lbs.

My turkey, on the right, is slightly longer.

Also, significantly taller in the breast.

Obviously, their turkey never had the privilage of exercising its gizzard because it was fed such finely ground feed all its life.  My turkey looks like its gizzard was at least 3 times the size.

These necks simply emphasis that my bird was older and had bigger bone structure.

I will write more later on the actual numbers, and the conclusions I drew from the experiment.  Stay tuned!
